Center zero phase meter in tube amplifier

Some info for people here since we're all amateurs anyway, right? Hope you don't mind me geeking out about what I learned today that there's this thing called center-zero phase meter used in a tube amplifier, showing the alignment of phase between voltage and current. So when the amp is tuned perfectly, this meter's needle is at the center (the zero mark). So if the amp is under or over coupled, the needle swings a little to the left or to the right... it's when you know it's out of phase. Once I'm already good at this I'm gonna try DIY one.

Appreciate the share. Not many people talk about center zero phase meters these days, especially outside old school RF circles or hi-fi amp geeks. Cool that you're diving into this kind of stuff, definitely post an update if you go through with the DIY build.

man, you're being humble. that's not amateur stuff, that's straight up cool! A centerzero phase meter sounds like a fantastic way to dial in a tube amp.
where did you learn all this? do you have tutorial source for the DIY? Love learning these kinds of details.
