The TV on the left is the one we used for Slow Scan TV. We watched the first mars rover on it via direct signal. It was really neat watching the lines on the tv fill in to make the images. And before email, we had a western union type equipment on the left end of the desk area. He was an Extra, and I was Advanced.
When he would travel for work, I would keep in touch by Ham radio. This was decades before cell phones.
